Who am I and why am I here? Just your average Jane who has something to say about life…hopefully in a way that makes you smile, laugh and think, “yes! This just happened to us, too!”
After writing about suburbia for over ten years I decided it was time to compile my essays into one fabulous book! S.O.S. From Suburbia is a collection of light-hearted essays that will keep you smiling page afer page.
Presently I live in suburbia with a husband, teen-age-man-boy, twelve-year-old daughter and a 100-pound German Shepherd. Been married for 21 years (whose counting?) and living in this house for ten years. My kids actually go to the same middle school and high school I went to.
Quite honestly, I can’t imagine my life any different than what it is. So, I keep looking for the positive, the up-lifting and the chocolate. Keeping myself sane by exercising (just moving), reading great books, and hanging out with my family and friends.
Suburbia is not what I thought it would be…and yet, it’s exactly as I imagined. It is the greatest place to raise happy, well-adjusted, confident kids ready to take on the world. So is their mother!
Wasn’t supposed to happen this way. I was supposed to live a life of travel, writing and adventure. Be careful what you wish for…sometimes things turn out just the way they are supposed to!
